Executive Health Program Overview

At South Denver Internal Medicine the goal of our preventive health program is to create a unique wellness plan for each patient in our concierge program as well as to detect and treat disease in its earliest stages before major problems develop.  By being well informed and aware of your own health issues, many costly medical problems can be prevented.

Patients in our concierge care program receive an annual preventive health examination made up of the following components:

  • Detailed medical history and physical examination
  • Comprehensive laboratory testing
  • Nutritional assessment
  • Body Composition testing using Inbody technology
  • Calcium Heart Score (Chest CT)
  • Sleep evaluation
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • BpTru™ blood pressure monitoring
  • Lung function (Spirometry)
  • Hearing test (Audiogram)
  • Cancer screenings
  • Vaccinations
  • Emotional health assessment

Each full member of our program is provided a complete written report of their examination serving to empower them with the education and the tools that they need to make informed healthcare decisions and achieve their individual health and wellness goals. The report is divided into the following sections.

The complete written report includes the following:

History & Physical

History and Physical details your medical history, your physical examination and my impression and recommendations.

Lab Reports

Lab Reports details your most recent blood work results. Your results are accompanied by a description of each laboratory test explaining the meaning, purpose and significance of each test.

Test Results

Test Results includes a copy of pertinent test results that you have had with an explanation of the test and results.

Metabolic Test

Your resting metabolic rate will be measured. Knowing your unique metabolic rate is crucial to help you understand how much you need to eat or exercise in order to maintain or lose weight. In addition, the maximum amount of oxygen that you consume during exercise (VO2 max) will be measured. This test measures your ability to perform sustained exercise and is the best indicator of cardiovascular fitness and aerobic endurance. This will also identify your unique target heart zones during exercise enabling you to reach your fitness goals more effectively. Everyone will have their metabolic rate measured. VO2 testing will be done for most patients based on your cardiovascular health.

Many of the medical problems that affect us can be prevented. There are four fundamental keys to a healthy lifestyle which includes balanced nutrition, regular exercise, adequate sleep and healthy relationships. In addition preventing infectious disease through the appropriate use of vaccinations and preventing cancers through reducing risk factors and maintaining screening tests add further health protections.

Balanced Nutrition

Managing your nutrition goes beyond counting calories; it’s about eating a variety of foods, including plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and protein, and drinking plenty of water. With Dr. Miranda’s guidance, you can give your eating habits a healthy makeover.

Regular Exercise

A balanced fitness routine should include cardio or aerobic activity, muscle strengthening activities, and flexibility/balancing activities. Dr. Charles Miranda will help you develop an exercise routine that will work best for you.

Adequate Sleep

Dr. Miranda understands sleep disorders, including snoring, sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and narcolepsy. He can suggest ways to improve the quality of your sleep.

Healthy Relationships

Anything that causes stress can have an impact on your health, including an unhealthy relationship with a family member, loved one, friend, or colleague. Stress can lead to all sorts of health problems, including weight gain, depression, hormonal changes, high blood pressure, and more. Discuss your concerns with Dr. Miranda, and he’ll address this as part of your preventive medical care.
